The Unmasked rapper known as MF DOOM dies at the age of 49 years old
It was in the early hours of the day of 1st January 2021 that I received a text message from my Nephew that stated simply that – “MF DOOM IS DEAD”.
I immediately phoned up my Nephew to find out more.
He confirmed that already it was over the BBC (UK) media organization website pages and the STONE THROW RECORD LABELS website.
I simply replied – “Oh No”. I can’t believe it”.
After a relatively short conversation with him, and wishing him a Happy New Year for him and his family.
I wanted to check what the music industry and the Internet community had to say about all of this.
And my nephew was right. I did check the BBC website and other music industry websites, and indeed MF DOOM had died. It was not a stupid prank.
ABC7.COM NEWS REPORT ABOUT THE DEATH OF MF DOOM
Also whilst I was searching the Internet for further news on MF DOOM's death. I came across this very sad news. It was a speech given by the wife of MF DOOM that was left on Facebook.
It was from there that it was announced that MF DOOM had died on 31 October 2020 aged 49 years old.
A message by MF DOOMS PARTNER, LOVER AND FRIEND JASMINE DUMILE -
“Begin all things by giving thanks to THE ALL! To Dumile, The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover, and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught, and given to me, our children, and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give them another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off.
Thank you for showing me how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be. My world will never be the same without you.
Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THEY continue to bless you, our family, and the planet. All my Love Jasmine”

HOW DID MF DOOM DIE, OR WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF DEATH?
MF DOOM was known as one of the World’s most complete and complex lyricists. If not one of the greatest rappers, within the music gender of Hip-hop music.
My earliest knowledge of the man was when I heard a song that captured my ears whilst surfing the Internet years ago.
This was the song that I heard that led me to investigate even more about this artist's music.

MF DOOM - "ARROWROOT" - 2001
He is often called the MC’s favorite MC put it that way. Yes, he was that good. It is often stated that he is the only rapper that could battle Eminem and win.
MF Dooms' real name was Daniel Dumile. He was born in London, England on 9 January 1971. He was the son of a Trinidadian mother and a Zimbabwean father.
When he was a child, he moved with his family to Long Island, New York USA, and grew up in the town of Long Beach, New York, USA
He remained a British citizen and never gained American citizenship.
Dumile began DJing during the summer after third grade. As a child, he was a fan and collector of comic books.
He began a proper musical career within the year 1988 as a member of the trio KMD, at which time he performed under the name Zev Love X.
The band known as KMD disbanded in 1993 following the death of Dumile's brother, DJ Subroc – via a road accident.
After taking a break from the music scene. Dumile came back in 1998 when he began performing at OPEN MIC events while wearing a mask.
It was the wearing of the mask that Dumile was now heading towards becoming a legendary figure within the world of Hip Hop music.
It was here that he adopted the MF Doom persona, where he rarely made unmasked public appearances from that time onward.
The metal mask idea came from the Marvel Comics super-villain that is Doctor Doom.
The Doctor Doom character is poised, rapping on the cover of MF DOOM’s 1999 debut solo album Operation: Doomsday.
Dumile's most prolific period was during the early 2000s. It was here that he released four studio albums and two collaborative albums between the years of 2003 and 2005.
This was done under him using the characters of – MF DOOM, King Geedorah, and Viktor Vaughn.
Dumile (MF DOOM) still frequently collaborated with other producers and rappers, most notably with Madlib under the moniker Madvillain.
It was the release duo's 2004 album Madvillainy that really changed MF DOOM's popularity within the music of hip-hop.
Both MF Doom and Madlib received widespread critical acclaim upon their release and have been cited as MF Doom’s and Madlib's best work to date. A landmark album within the music of hip hop music that led it to another level.
Madvillainy is the only studio album created by the hip-hop duo known as Madvillain – which consisted of MF DOOM (The MC) and Madlib (The Hip-hop producer).
It was released on March 23, 2004, on Stones Throw Records.
The album was recorded between the years 2002 and 2004.
The producer, Madlib created most of the album's instrumentals during a trip to BRAZIL.
It was here that the production was composed entirely within his hotel room using just a BOSS SP-303 sampler, a turntable, and a tape deck.
The album consists of 22 songs, (most of which are short, under 3 minutes, and contain no HOOKS or CHORUSES) - which made it sound very "LEFT FIELD" at the time
Sam Samuelson of ALLMUSIC for instance compared the album to a comic book!
He also noted that some instrumentals on the album "Seem to be so out of time or step with a traditional hip-hop direction"
Throughout the album, DOOM,s participation sees us witnessing the uses of several MULTI-SYLLABLE RHYMES, INTERNAL RHYMES, AND ALLITERATION.
Music critics of the day (and now) are in AWE of his extensive use of WORDPLAY AND DOUBLE ENTRENDRES AS WELL.
HOW GOOD WAS MF DOOM?
Well please click on the video below to find out why was rated so highly.
Months before the album that was Madvillainy was released. A demo copy of the album was stolen and then leaked onto the internet.
Both MF DOOM and Madlib were so frustrated over this leak that the duo immediately stopped working on the album. They only returned back to it, when they had released other solo projects.
Madvillainy only achieved moderate commercial success (for instance - The album peaked at number 179 on the US Billboard 200), but it still became one of the label's (STONE THROW) best-selling albums
The album still managed to attract, much wanted attention from the many media outlets not known for covering hip-hop music.
Music critics, in general, helped caused this boom of interest as they picked up on – MF DOOM’s lyricism, Madlib production, and obscure sample-finding skills.
The album is continually ranked in various publications' lists as one of the all-time greatest albums, including the NME's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and also with Rolling Stone's magazine - 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The album's success allowed for the record label that is Stone Throw to open an office in HIGHLAND PARK, LOS ANGELES
In 2014, in honor of the 10th anniversary of Madvillainy Stones Throw released a special edition of the album on vinyl.
The album re-entered the Billboard 200 chart, peaking at number 117, higher than it did originally.
This is just one of my favorite songs from the album is Madvillainy (2004) which is - MF Doom - Figaro - 2004
The wordplay and double entendres, multi-syllable rhymes, and internal rhymes are just incredible. The sample selection and choice are ALSO spot on by Madlib. I don't care who you are. Your head will be "Nodding"
In the 2010s, he relocated to London, where he recorded further music.
Fresh news just in from the hip-hop artist known as the - Flying Lotus – that himself and MF DOOM, who had worked together on previous projects were beginning work on a new project.
Only last month, Flying Lotus dropped a single called ‘Lunch Break’ which featured MF DOOM, which was released as part of the latest update to Grand Theft Auto Online. Please read below to see for yourselves.
I hate to say this but we were working on an EP. There were more songs that I hadn’t even heard. https://t.co/i3772B7bDS
