An important product to have when listening to the Electric Soul show either via your - Desktop Computer, Mobile Phone, Laptop, Tablet, or even Gaming Console
We have searched and looked through different products that we believe is important to many music lovers or listeners of the Electric Soul Show. We have decided on the product which is headphones.
We have researched and read through hundreds of reviews in regard to the subject of headphones that are available out there.
There are hundreds to choose from. Literally.
However, we decided on a company called - Meze Audio. from Romania.
MEZE 99 NEO’S
Meze Audio company is a headphone maker, that started gaining the attention of headphone lovers from around the world. When it released a pair of beautifully crafted, wooden-styled, headphones, that also happened to sound fantastic.
The headphone in question was the Meze 99 Classic headphones.
The Meze 99 Classics were released to the general public to buy during the year 2015.
The Meze 99 Neo was released to the general public to buy during the year 2017.
However, we are here today to do a review of the headphones that are Meze 99 Neo.
The Meze 99 classics came to the market, after being constructed of wood, for the design stylings of the headphone's ear cups. Making them look expensive at the very least, and at best, luxurious.
However, the Meze Neo 99’s makeup hasn't got that "Luxurious Look" as the “Classics” have. This model (The Meze Neo 99) comes fitted with a textured, black, composite ABS plastic fitting for its headphone's ear cups.
The sound of the Meze 99 Neo is slightly different than its big brother (The Meze 99 Classics). But the total package you are buying falls right in line with the Meze 99 Classic Headphones overall.
WHAT IS IN THE BOX?
The 99 Neo headphones which were delivered to me came in a beautifully, designed box, with plenty of details about the inside headphones.
When I got around to opening the box. You are greeted by an attractive yet, useful hard-shell carry case. Inside this case is where the headphones are lurking.
I have to say that the case is of good, good quality and is molded specifically to fit the Meze Neo 99 product.
Inside this same case, you are presented with the 99 Neo headphones, and a small black pouch, full of the accessories which are attached to the inside of the case with a velcro pad.
The accessories are simple enough. There is a dual entry 3.5mm cable as well as a jack adapter. It’s that simple.
The cable that is included within the pouch is very nice and comes with good jack points and an excellent Meze branded splitter.
BUILD QUALITY AND STYLE
From a distance, the Meze 99 Neo looks like the black version of the original classic model (Meze 99 Classics).
Looking at various pictures and images that I have seen of both of them, they do look similar. It's just that the wood finish of the Classics makes you turn your head more.
Meze Audio created such heading-turning, headphones in the first place in regards to the “Meze 99 Classics”. The mantra - "If it is not broken, why fix it - comes to mind here.
But you would be surprised.
So many people are happy with the fact, that they have another version of this headphone. But on this occasion, the Meze Neo 99 headphones feature a cool black and chrome finish design.
The build quality of the Meze Neo 99 is excellent. Actually picking up the headphones, and casting my eyes all around it. I have to say everything is finished to a very high standard indeed.
Not heavy to handle at all. In fact light to the touch.
I have already shown a few people the Meze Neo 99 headphones since they arrived. And many have no idea that these headphones are not as expensive as they look. But, I can understand if they thought that they were worth at least £300 pounds.
COMFORT & ISOLATION
The Meze Neo 99 ear pads that are supplied to you are of low weight. They also come with an excellent headband to make these headphones easier to fit on.
The Meze Neo 99 headphones have plenty of room for medium-sized ears. Despite the odd break for hot ears (taking them off to give my ears so "Air"). I found no fatigue from having them on for long periods, or the use of the self-adjusting feature of the headphones headband.
Due to these being closed-back headphone designs, not much external noise or sound gets in or out of them. These headphones are useful for people who are working within offices, libraries, Music establishments, making a Podcast and of course, listening to a Podcast.
SOUND QUALITY
I can only speak of the Meze NEO 99 sound quality here at this time. I have never used the Meze Neo’s Classics myself personally.
The Meze Neo 99’s headphones have a warm sound and yet at the same time, the bass sound of these headphones is of first-class status. If you like listening to the music of Dub Reggae, HipHop, House, or even some classical or jazz music. You are in for a treat.
CONCLUSION & SUMMARY
What we really have here is essentially a Meze Classic lite. Even though they are known as Meze NEO 99.
You get as many of the great features from the original model, (Meze 99 Classic) just at a lower price it seems.
I know many music lovers or listeners of the Electric Soul Show will be happy for a similar-sounding headphone as the Classics but served in the lower price range. I too am one of those people.
The Meze Neo 99 is a great headphone, and for the value, I think it is definitely worth considering if you were looking to purchase the Meze Neo Classics, Only to find out that you didn't quite have the funds you thought you did.
Meze Audio has managed to bring down the price of the Meze Neo 99, without sacrificing the quality of what makes Meze headphones great in general.
